Lambda Chi Alpha Centennial Book
I just received the Lambda Chi Alpha Centennial Edition history and roll call in the mail. Sweet!
And my buddy Claude, who most of you who have read this site know, just did some artwork for the cover of the latest edition of the Cross and Crescent magazine.
Tips for Dial Global’s Affidavit Department
I have brought this up with Dial Global (a radio syndication/commercial clearinghouse) numerous times, but they haven’t a clue, so I’ll post it here for the world to see.
RadioAffidavits.com is a website where we radio types go to submit forms stating that our contracted commercials through Dial Global have actually aired according to schedule.
All of the other providers that we work with use Counterpoint Software’s affidavit program, which is fast, intuitive, and very user friendly.
Aside from only being able to use Internet Explorer to submit affidavits, Dial-Global’s system contains WAY too many clicks and scrolls in order to submit one affidavit.
Here’s the process:
Wait for screen to load. (it takes a long time)
Click on the affidavits button which is placed BEHIND a flashing marquee.
Wait for the page to load.
Scroll all the way down to your show’s schedule.
Scroll down on your show to get to the correct date. (three frames deep)
Click on the date.
Wait for the page to load.
Two different “Loading, please wait” pages pop up.
Scroll down on the page so that you can:
Scroll down in the affidavit frame.
Click “Submit”
Wait through another “loading” message.
Click “I Agree.”
Click “Submit.”
Click “Close Window.”
Initial page loads, but…
Wait five seconds before scrolling because page RELOADS.
Goto Line 5
You could submit three months worth of affidavits with Counterpoint in the time it would take you to do a month’s worth in Dial-Global’s mess.
Get a clue, Dial Global.
Now I’m off to find a computer that still allows me to access Internet Explorer. Fun.

Kick Brix
Somebody dropped off some Kick Brix energy chews for me at the radio station. Kick Brix are apparently high-energy chews that contain vitamin-B, caffeine, taurine, etc. and are designed to boost your energy without an energy drink.
The problem with Kick Brix is that they taste absolutely horrible.

Gran Torino
Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood is the best movie that I have seen in a long time. If you get the chance, I highly recommend you watch it. You’ll be better off for it.
Now get off my lawn.
Laffigan
“I love packaging. Packaging is like the clothing of food, isn’t it? ‘Oh, what are you wearing, there, cookie? A lovely Mint Milano pack. Candy, let me help you with that wrapper, so you’re a little bit more comfortable…”
~Jim Gaffigan
Baby It’s Cold Outside
Man, it’s been cold.
Three feet of ice does not result from one day of cold weather.

Resolve
My favorite (albeit stupid) ways to reply when someone asks what my New Year’s resolution is:
Get down to my birthweight.
Fit comfortably in my prom dress.
Quit eating.
To finally get rid of that rash.
“I celebrate Chinese New Year so that I can wait another month before committing.”
Totally Inappropriate
…but funny as heck.
Animal Farm Irony
President with socialist tendencies vs. Book with anti-socialist message
Shepard Fairey is a fantastic artist and a huge Barack Obama supporter. Recently, he designed the covers of George Orwell’s classics, “1984″ and “Animal Farm” for Penguin Books. I think it’s both ironic and contradictory.
Is It Sunday?
Oh my. I had a great time last night with some friends. First we went to dinner at Envoy in Milwaukee. The service was terrible but the food wasn’t all that bad. Then we had some drinks at the Iron Horse Hotel (very cool) before heading over to my buddy Jay’s house for some Guitar Hero and too much champagne. (I stayed there)
Today I had a remote broadcast in the morning and then the rest of the day has been spent watching football and mob stories on the Biography Channel. It feels like a lazy Sunday.
I hope you had a Happy New Year.
Mortality
I’m only 30, but now that I’m a dad and I have those little blue eyes looking up at me all the time, I find myself thinking a lot more about my mortality, now.
Really, where I’m going with this is: please don’t get wasted and drive home tonight. Thanks.
Happy New Year.
How Not To Get A Job Interview
We’re hiring a production coordinator at the radio station. We’ve seen some great applicants and some that aren’t so great. I won’t give any of this person’s details, but putting this in your resume isn’t the way to get a job (I’m not joking about this):
This job started out well, but after about a month, my bosses started turning in to real pricks, which is why I am seeking a new job…in order to quit this one.
Hahahahahahahaha. I understand his frustration and I wish him well, but my goodness… that’s just hilarious!
Addendum
Besides my top five television shows that I posted earlier, I am also addicted to pretty much anything on the Military Channel. Right now there is a documentary about the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center… and it is AWESOME.
